RedMagic 9 Pro to launch in Malaysia for under RM3000

The RedMagic 9 Pro, a cutting-edge gaming smartphone from RedMagic, is set to launch in Malaysia.

The phone stands out with its unique design, featuring RGB lighting and a completely flat back panel without any protruding camera bumps. It boasts a 6.8-inch AMOLED BOE Q9+ panel display, offering a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz touch sampling rate, peak brightness of 1,600nits, full DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. It also has a bezel-less screen with an under-display selfie camera, eliminating the need for a punch-hole cutout.

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The RedMagic 9 Pro+ model, offering 24GB of RAM and 1TB storage, remains exclusive to China. The phone features the new ICE 13 cooling system with a cooling fan spinning at 22,000RPM. It comes with Android 14, overlaid with RedMagic OS9 and various gaming-centric software tools.

The camera setup includes two 50MP rear cameras – a main camera with a Samsung GN5 sensor, optical image stabilization, and a 7P lens, and an ultrawide angle camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor. The under-display selfie camera is 16MP.
