realme 8 Pro launched in Malaysia: Priced at RM1,299

If you’re looking for an affordable camera smartphone, the realme 8 Pro, priced at RM1,299, looks to be quite a decent option with its 108MP quad-camera setup. 

Cameras 

Powering the phone’s impressive imaging system is a Samsung HM2 sensor – alongside it is an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP B&W lens. For selfies, you get a 16MP lens that’s housed in a punch hole module. 

To make use of the awesome lenses are the phone’s photography features including Smart-ISO, Super Nightscape Mode, 3x in-Sensor Zoom, Starry Mode and Starry Time-lapse Mode, Tilt-shift Mode, Neon Portrait, Ai Colour Portrait, and more. 

Display and design 

The phone packs a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel that pushes a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. It can can also reach a peak brightness of 1,000nitts, so viewing under direct sunlight shouldn’t be a problem. 

The realme 8 Pro comes in two colours – Infinite Blue, and Infinite Black; the back panel is embedded with realme’s “Dare To Leap” slogan too for added flair. 

The phone weighs 176 grams and has an 8.1mm thickness, making it relatively easy to slip into your jeans pocket.  

Specs 

Under the hood is a capable Snapdragon 720G chipset along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.  

Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery; and there’s also support for fast charging of up to 50W! The phone can be powered up to 50% in just 17 minutes, according to realme. 

Availability 

Pre-orders for the phone have started, and will end this 30 April; upon placing your order, you’ll be entitled to a gift box and one extra year of warranty.
