Razer unveils the Ornata mecha-membrane keyboard

When it comes to keyboards, there are two kinds that dominate the market. The first is membrane, the other is mechanical. Today, Razer has announced that it will be debuting a new keyboard. However, this keyboard is unique as it is a hybrid between membrane and mechanical keyboards. This is the Razer Ornata, the world’s first mecha-membrane keyboard.

Combining the traits of the membrane keyboard’s rubber dome design and the mechanical keyboard’s technology, the Razer Ornata delivers both a soft, cushioned touch and a crisp, tactile click with each keystroke. Razer’s new mecha-membrane is a unique mid-height keycap hybrid that the company claims will provide comfortable and efficient typing experience unlike any key type on the market.

Much like the other keyboards is Razer’s catalogue, the Ornata will come in either monochrome green lighting, or the Chroma RGB lighting. The Ornata will also come with a detachable ergonomic wrist rest that is magnetically held in place. Pre-orders for the Ornata is now open at Razerzone. The Ornata will have a retail price of RM469.90.
