It has been a while since we have seen a new processor from Qualcomm that powers smartwatches. The last we heard of a new processor is the Qualcomm 2100 chip which was introduced back in 2016 and has been the standard for all Android smartwatches.
However, the company has sent out invites to media outlets overseas for an event that they will be hosting on 10th September 2018 which indicates they will be releasing a new wearable chip. The invite shows a picture of a smartwatch with the temperature in SF(San Francisco) with the title ‘It’s Time’ which is a good indicator that it will be the new wearable processor. The chip is said to be built from the ground up and should improve battery life. It will also allow for smaller devices to give users more stylish options. No other information was shared and we do not know if they will be showing off some watches that will come with the chip.
