We have seen telcos like Celcom teasing the arrival of 5G, Qualcomm has today announced the Snapdragon X50 5G single-chip modem today at the Qualcomm 4G/5G summit. The company has claimed that they have been able to establish a 5G connection with more than gigabit per second speeds with multi carrier aggregation and an over-the-air connection using their 28GHz mmWave antenna module.

With that, the chipset maker has also unveiled their first reference phone with the Snapdragon X50 modem, which allows developers to test and optimize 5G mmWave performance within the constraints of a mobile form factor.
