Qualcomm confirms new naming convention for Snapdragon products

Previously, rumours have been circulating about Qualcomm’s new naming convention for their Snapdragon chipsets, and we didn’t have to wait long for this to be confirmed.

Despite its Tech Summit on November 30, Qualcomm has gone ahead to reveal that their SoCs will include “a single-digit series and generation number.” This will be effective from its newest flagship Snapdragon 8-series and just like that, we have received confirmation of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The company states that this new naming structure can make it easier for its customers to “discover and choose devices powered by Snapdragon” and I highly agree with this statement as there are many different models available on the market right now. With this, identifying the chips will be easy-peasy.

It was also said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 supports 150W fast-charging and will officially unveil at Qualcomm’s Tech Summit next week – November 30 to 2 December –  so stay tuned as we provide you with more updates then.
