Press renders of the upcoming Moto DROID show three color options

We’re not sure whether will it be dubbed as the Moto Z DROID or another name of that sort, since Motorola has apparently registered a trademark for the Moto Z name, in place of the Moto X branding which was used for their flagship line over the past couple of years. Nevertheless, Evan Blass strikes the rumor mill jackpot again, revealing alleged press renders of the next DROID handset by Motorola.

Based on the leaked renders, we should be expecting three color options of the new DROID, a gold, silver, and what seems to be a rose gold or pink gold with a black rear. We are also pretty certain that the device will still carry a DROID in its title, based on the DROID branding on the rear camera module. Also, if you squint your eyes a little, you might be able to see that the back panel of the handset seems to sport some kind of texture, which might turn out to be rubbery, making it ruggedized in a way that it absorbs more shock when dropped. But we can’t be entirely sure based on only its looks.

What do you think about this DROID phone so far? Motorola had two DROID handsets last year – the DROID Maxx 2 and DROID Turbo 2, so it is possible that the company will release two DROID’s again this year. Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
