Pokémon Go is now available for the Apple Watch

Still playing Pokémon Go? Do you own an Apple Watch? We have some good news for you if you said yes to both questions as Niantic has finally rolled out Pokémon Go for the Apple Watch.

First demo-ed back in September, the Apple Watch version of Pokémon Go will allow you to receive notifications from the watch itself. These notifications will inform you if there are any Pokémon or PokéStops nearby, if your eggs have hatched, or if you’ve earn a medal in-game. In addition to the game itself, Niantic has also programmed Pokémon Go for Apple Watch so that the session is logged as a workout that counts toward your Apple Watch Activity rings.

While the Pokémon Go app for Apple Watch is pretty handy when it comes to notifications, do note that you’ll still need to pull out your iPhone if you want to catch a Pokémon. Still, the Apple Watch version is a pretty good companion to the main game, allowing you to hatch your eggs without needing the phone to be active the whole time.
