POCO has launched the POCO F5 series in Malaysia, the series include the POCO F5 and F5 Pro, and they will be available in Malaysia from May 9, with a starting price of RM 1,699.
According to Angus Ng, the Head of Product Marketing at POCO Global, the new devices are “designed for dedicated techies who want the best forward-looking technology”.
The POCO F5 Pro, powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, is the brand’s first device to feature a WQHD+ 120Hz AMOLED DotDisplay.
Meanwhile, the POCO F5 is the first smartphone in global markets to feature a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor, delivering a super-fast gaming experience, it is essentially the cousin of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which is sold exclusively in China.
The POCO F5 Pro promises to deliver incredible visual experiences with its hyperclear 6.67-inch WQHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, it delivers 1400 nits of peak brightness and 68 billion true-to-life colors, making images produced stunningly clear and detailed. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that’s complemented with LiquidCool Technology 2.0, with a high-efficient Vapor Chamber and intelligent frame stabilization technology FEAS 2.2, which improves performance by dissipating heat efficiently, and extends the lifespan of the battery and the device.
In terms of photography, the POCO F5 Pro features a triple camera setup that comprises a 64MP f/1.79 OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras, with only the main camera supporting 8K video shooting at 30 fps, selfies are serviced by a 16MP front camera.
Battery life on the POCO F5 Pro is also expected to be top notch with a 5000mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging, while it is also the first POCO phone to come with fast wireless charging at 30W.
On the other hand, the POCO F5 merely gets a slight downgrade in spec, aside from the still capable Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, the 6.67-inch display pushes FHD+ resolution at 120Hz with a 1000 nits peak brightness, wireless charging is omitted though it still supports the same 67W wired fast charging, while due to the limitation of its chipset, its main 64MP camera with OIS will only take up to 4K videos, while the rest of the features remain similar to the POCO F5 Pro.
The POCO F5 Pro can be purchased exclusively on the POCO Official Store on Lazada from May 9 onwards, available in color options of Black and White, here are the storage variants and prices:
