Playful fun with Moto Z, the world's thinnest premium smartphone, and Moto Mods

Admit it. We all love customizing our personal belongings to make it, well, personal. So, many brands have made their software customizable in order to cater to that need. Today, the Moto Z, Moto Z Play and the Moto Mods have finally landed in Malaysia, allowing you to snap on all sorts of revolutionary interchangeable backs to a razor thin smartphone. 

The new Moto Z is razor thin at just 5.2mm, made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, featuring a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM, with a 64GB internal storage options and supports up to 2TB microSD storage. As for its standard stock camera, the Moto Z sports a 13MP f/1.8 rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization and laser autofocus, while the front sports a 5MP camera with extra front flash and wide angle lens. 

Power is of importance, and the Moto Z has that with 2600mAh battery that allows you to get gain 7 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging using its TurboPower charging feature. 

The Moto Z comes with a water-repellant coating, keeping it protected from rain, splashes or spills. 

Today, the Moto Z Play was also launched, a phone that gives you long lasting battery life, in a thin lightweight design of solid aluminum frame and glass back, and a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display. It sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage with up to 2TB microSD card support. As for its camera, the Moto Z Play features a 16MP rear camera with Laser and PDAF autofocus, and a wide-angle front facing camera. 

What was most interesting was the Moto Mods. You can instantly transform your smartphone into an entirely new device with the Moto Mods’ magnetic attachements. You can give your Moto Z or Moto Z Play an additional audio boost with the JBL SoundBoost, or share a movie with the Moto Insta-Share Projector that turns your phone into a 70-inch movie projector. 

Need more juice? Just stick on an Incipio offGRID Power Pack for extra 20 hours of battery life, or you can make your phone look stylish with a Moto Style Shell made from read wood or leather, or one of the many ballistic nylon variants. 

Want a more powerful camera? Then check out the Hasselblad True Zoom mod that lets you capture much more with a 10x optical zoom, and its Xenon flash. 

The Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available for preorder on 11street and Lazada starting 4 November 2016 for the price of RM2,699 and RM1,799 respectively. The first 50 preorder customers on each retailer will receive a free JBL SoundBoost Speaker Mod with purchase of Moto Z or Moto Z Play. All of these will be available starting end November.
