Google just can’t stop teasing what’s coming up on its next flagship device, even though it is set to launch in another two months, it has announced that the Pixel 4 is confirmed to use facial scan for security, which also means that we are no longer getting a fingerprint reader.
Most Android phones already have facial unlock, but rarely any of them has such sophisticated facial scanning hardware as the iPhone, as the latter identifies your face by scanning a 3D structure of your face for better security, most Android phones use their front cameras for this feature, which is less secure as you can easily trick the phone to unlock by using a photo.
If there’s one thing for sure, Google is probably trying to grab our attention with its new sophisticated face unlock feature on the Pixel 4 a week ahead on the Note 10’s launch, which the latter will come with a in-screen fingerprint reader, the company also claims that the Pixel 4’s face unlock is more advanced than the iPhone as it recognizes your face from any angle you hold your phone.
October is just two more months away, and let’s see what more Google has to pre-announce.
