Flip phones were a trend back in the days and now Motorola is reported to have plans on bringing the trend back. The company is rumoured to bring back the Motorola RAZR design, but this rumoured phone does not have an official name yet.

The Motorala phone that is expected to be released this year is referred to as Motorola RAZR 2019 foldable phone for now, and this phone sports a clamshell design like the RAZR V3 back in 2004. Besides that, the patent that was filed by Motorola and granted by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) also revealed that the phone will have a rather large chin that is expected to be housing the speaker and the microphone.

The RAZR 2019 will have a hinge at the centre so it can be folded like old flip phones and it will also have a secondary display and a back camera on its upper half while its lower half houses a fingerprint scanner.

On its front, the RAZR 2019 will have a rather tall display from top to bottom as it loses the old school physical keyboard. It will also come with a notch that is slightly similar to the iPhone X’s notch, but it seems like the design does not show a front camera on the notch as expected.

Besides that, the RAZR 2019 is said to come in a limited supply of 200,000 units. Motorola seems to be collaborating with the telco carrier Verizon, so while it’s going to available in US, its global availability is unknown. We’re expecting to see the RAZR 2019 in February with a hefty price tag around $1,500.
