OPPO's R9s officially arrives on Malaysian shores

After releasing the F1s selfie camera in Malaysia, OPPO is switching gears today as the company has unveiled the R9s smartphone. Unlike the F1s, the R9s is a phone that focuses on the rear camera instead of the front.

With the OPPO R9s, the company has equipped the phone with a 16MP IMX398 sensor that is said to be co-developed by Sony and OPPO themselves. Apart from that, the R9s also comes with an extra-wide f/1.7 aperture, allowing it capture 40% more light than other phones. Other features of the rear camera includes dual PDAF technology as well as an electronic image stabilization system. That is not to say that the front camera is neglected of course as the R9s comes with a 16MP front camera with a f/2.0 aperture.

For internals, the R9s sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage space. The phone has a 3,010mAh battery that supports OPPO’s very own VOOC fast charging technology.

Pre-orders for the OPPO R9s is now open until the 13th of January. The phone will be available in the market on the 14th of January with a retail price of RM1,798.
