OPPO Reno5 spotted online: Curved display and 65W fast charging

OPPO Reno4

This is the new OPPO Reno5 according to what appears to be official listings on China’s TENAA certification site.

The introduction of new Reno devices has become a biannual affair, and the Reno5 will kick off 2021 strongly with a decent, albeit familiar offering. The the 6.55-inch device looks to have a curved display with a punch hole-camera at the front, according to the renders posted on TENAA.

Over on the back panel, you get a rectangular camera bump placed in a vertical orientation – which is reminiscent of the Reno4. There are four camera lenses housed in that module and the main shooter is a 64MP one. It’s accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera as well as two other 2MP lenses.

Under the hood, reports suggest a Snapdragon 765G or a Dimensity 1000+ chip depending on the variant. More interestingly, OPPO may return the Reno back to the flagship market as the top-spec Reno 5 could pack a Snapdragon 865.

The phone will also support 65W of fast charging, and possibly a 4,200mAh battery.

This begs one question however, since the Snapdragon 865 is a 2020 chip, could the Reno5 then be launch be the end of the year rather than early 2021? In any case, we won’t have to wait for long before OPPO draws the curtains on their series.
