OPPO launches Find X5 series in MWC 2022

After a series of teasers, the OPPO Find X5 series is now official as the smartphone brand has unveiled it at Mobile World Congress 2022.

Like what we have reported previously, the highlight of the Find X5 series would be its dedicated imaging Neural Processing Unit known as MariSilicon X, which features a 6nm process that’s designed to resolve challenges in night videography and features an advanced AI noise reduction algorithm designed by the OPPO Research Institute, preserving finer detail, skin tone and colour accuracy pixel by pixel while reducing noise levels when taking 4K videos.

Assisting the Find X5’s low light videography capabilities is also attributed to the famous 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, which you get two of them as the wide and ultra-wide lens and is the first smartphone in the industry to achieve that, the telephoto lens takes 13MP stills with a 5X hybrid zoom and 20X digital zoom. However, only the main wide-angle camera will have a 5-axis OIS system.

As for their front cameras, OPPO uses the same Sony co-developed 32MP IMX709 sensor as the Reno7 series, which will automatically switch to a 90-degree wide-angle when it detects a group of faces for wefies. On top of that, the Find X5 Pro incorporates Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Calibration in the Pro Mode with a range of creative Master filters.

Both the Find X5 and X5 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor like other flagships, while the Find X5 Pro features a ceramic glass build and sports a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display that displays 10-bit colors and a WQHD+ resolution that refreshes at 120Hz. Like Samsung’s Vision Booster on the Galaxy S22, the Find X5 Pro’s display performance can also be boosted with multi-brightness color calibration and has 8192-level of screen dimming, hence colors are more consistent and visibility is enhanced when viewed under sunlight or low light.

The regular Find X5 on the other hand features the regular flagship frosted glass and aluminum build, and comes with a smaller 6.5-inch 120Hz billion-colour display.

With a 5000mAh battery onboard, the Find X5 Pro supports 80W SuperVOOC flash charging and 50W of AirVOOC wireless charging, while the Find X5 has slower wireless charging at 30W.

Both phones will be available in colors of Black and White, local availability will be announced at a later time, but we are sure it won’t be long as Malaysia is a key market for OPPO.
