OPPO goes selfie centric again with the 16MP selfie camera A57

While most smartphone manufacturers have been upping the ante on their front facing shooters considering the fact that selfies play a big part in our lives right now, companies such as OPPO have been going on a frenzy with selfie focused handsets for quite some time now. The OPPO A57 is the latest addition to the company’s strong selfie game of smartphones. Announced in homeland China, the OPPO A57 has a 16MP front facing camera that shouldn’t go wrong.

Apart from its camera, the rest of the specs for the OPPO A57 happens to be pretty much sub par. For starters, the phone sports a 5.2-inch LCD display in 720p resolution instead of the usual Full HD resolution. Underneath the hood sits an octa core Snapdragon 435 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Storage is further expandable with the micro SD card slot supporting up to 128GB of extra storage.

As mentioned earlier, the OPPO A57 went all out with its selfie camera, standing at 16 megapixels. On the rear end, the handset features a 13MP PDAF camera with f/2.2 aperture, equipped with laser auto focus. It packs a 2,900mAh battery which sounds enough given the 720p display on the front. The OPPO A57 will set you back 1,599 CNY (RM1,033.55), so unless selfies are your strong suit and your main purpose of getting a smartphone, the OPPO A57 doesn’t sound like it’s worth getting given the rest of its specs. What do you think?
