OPPO Champions Sustainable, Functional Tech Through Key Innovations

In an increasingly sustainable-conscious world, consumers of tech are no longer just looking for products that merely elevate their standard of living and be at the forefront of innovation. More importantly, they are seeking for brands which are in line with their own personal values.

With the rise of sustainable technology, there are increasingly more adopters than ever before and it is no longer a need but a must for brands to place great emphasis on their environmental sustainable goals (ESG).

OPPO, a brand which firmly believes in the ethos “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World“, is at the forefront of sustainable tech and is determined to build a world where communication technology is accessible for everyone, especially for marginalized groups that may have special needs when it comes to using their devices.

OPPO’s continuous commitment lies in sustainable tech alongside its vision of driving innovation forward. At OPPO, there is a firm belief that cutting edge technology and a respect for the environment we live in can, and must, go hand-in-hand. OPPO’s brand new brand proposition, “Inspiration Ahead” undergirds all its efforts in bringing functional tech to more users around the world and it can be seen through OPPO’s ever-expanding fleet of products and offerings. OPPO hopes to continue charting new successes in the realm of sustainable tech and urges more industry players to play their part in building this ecosystem.

Functional, innovative tech for all

This colour compensation technology allows people with Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) to see colour-corrective hues and deeper contrast levels for color differentiation.

OPPO has optimized the accessibility design of its ColorOS 12 with the Color Vision Enhancement feature whereby users with color vision impairment are offered up to 766 display profiles to personalize their visual display. This is a significant step forward in the right direction for OPPO to bring users to the next level in sustainable tech.

Battery Health Engine is designed to increase the overall lifespan and health of the phone’s battery.

In addition, to increase product durability, OPPO has introduced its self-developed Battery Health Engine to increase the lifespan of its batteries. With this innovative technology, users’battery capacity is able to be maintained at 80% even after up to 1600 charging-discharging cycles.

This Battery Health Engine technological innovation works hand-in-hand alongside OPPO’s SuperVOOC flash-charging technology to bring users efficient, safe charging that complements their digital lifestyle.  In fact, OPPO’s latest 150W SuperVOOC flash charge is able to charge a 4,500 mAh battery to 50% in 5 minutes while OPPO’s 240W SuperVOOC flash charge can power up a 4,500 mAh battery to 100% in just 9 minutes, allowing users to enjoy convenience with each charge.

3R+1D” Green Packaging Principles

In tandem, OPPO’s smartphones are designed to be friendly to the environment. One of the way OPPO does this is by implementing the internationally recognized “3R+1D” sustainable packaging principles, alongside reducing the weight of packaging, reusing recycled materials and using recyclable and biodegradable materials in its packaging.

In its efforts, OPPO has successfully reduced the amount of packaging used for its smartphone products by 24% compared with 2019. To help users lead more sustainable lifestyles, OPPO has also sought to ensure that approximately 45% of the packaging is made by recycled fibre and the overall plastic used in the packaging of its smartphone produces has also been reduced by 95% since 2019.

In understanding its responsibility to integrate sustainability concepts as a tech provider, OPPO’s commitment of being a sustainable brand and what it means for the end user; is that users are able to enjoy the assurance of having a durable device from a trustworthy brand.
