The OPPO A9 2020 is official – we’ve received a media alert from the Chinese company confirming its launch sometime this month.
This means that the previous teaser poster highlighting the number four along with four vertical lenses (well, doughnuts in this case) is indeed the A9 2020. As mentioned in our previous article, the phone will come with a 48MP main lens, an 8MP lens that could either be telephoto or ultrawide angle, along with two 2MP shooters, one of which should be a depth sensor.
In terms of specs, although not confirmed in the media alert sent to us, reports say that it will sport a Snapdragon 665, putting it smack-dab in the middle of the smartphone market.
The 6.5-inch device is said to sport a HD+ screen, meaning 720p resolution, so we’re getting Xiaomi Mi A3 vibes here. The phone will have 8GB RAM as standard along with a gargantuan 5,000mAh battery.
In terms of design, it looks pretty standard – back-mounted fingerprint sensor, dew drop notch, possibly aluminium back.
We’ll be updating you more on the device when it officially launches in Malaysia, so stay tuned on our website.
