Opera’s Android and iOS browers have been updated to block cryptojacking scrips

Previously, Opera updated their desktop browser to block bitmining scripts, scripts that would block the website from running a script that will use your desktop hardware resources to mine cryptocurrency for the website that you are visiting. Opera has explained that by enabling the ad blocking feature in Opera Mini and Opera and it will detect and stop the mining scripts written in the coding of the website.

Phones can also be used as bitmining devices and cryptomining scripts like we previously seen on PirateBay can easily increase your phone’s CPU usage to 100 percent and that could lead to faster wear and tear, drain the battery and overheat the device. The feature can be turned off in Opera Mini in the ad blocker’s settings page for those of you that trust the website and would not mind helping it make some money.

If you have a powerful phone, then you might not realize that your phone’s resources are used for mining. There is a website where you can check if your mobile or desktop is affected by a cryptomining script which you can visit here.
