OnePlus updates Nougat beta for OnePlus 3

Earlier this month, OnePlus has made Android Nougat software available in beta, for its community to try its Oxygen OS software in Google’s latest Android version before commencing its final release. The Chinese manufacturer has promised that Nougat will arrive to its two 2016 flagships, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T by the end of the year. Approximately two weeks after OnePlus opened up its Nougat beta program for OnePlus 3 users, it has rolled out an OTA update as a follow up to that.

The new OTA update for the beta software includes these changes and improvements:

  • Added Expanded Screenshots
  • Shelf Design Optimizations
  • General UI Optimizations
  • DPI Optimizations
  • Battery Performance Optimizations
  • Stability and Performance Optimizations
  • General bug fixes

The above mentioned improvements are mostly not directly visible, with the exception of Expanded Screenshots, which allows users to capture a longer screenshot by scrolling down a page. The rest of the changes are mainly based on performance and stability improvements, plus general software optimization revolving around the Oxygen OS UI.

Known as Open Beta 9, existing beta users will be receiving the software update via OTA. Don’t worry about being left behind if you did not previously flash the Open Beta 8 software. OnePlus has made Open Beta 9 available for download as a full flashable build, but you will need to flash the software via ADB sideload. Be sure to backup all data before attempting to flash OnePlus’ Nougat Open Beta. The full details and instructions regarding Open Beta 9 is available via the source link below.
