OnePlus patent reveals hidden camera and rotating camera cover

OnePlus recently demonstrated a phone with disappearing cameras during CES, but that’s not the end of it; the company recently filed a patent that shows a circular camera that comes with a rotating camera cover.

The device illustrated in the patent is similar to the OnePlus 7T. The only difference would be the camera placements and the additional camera cover. Though it is not mentioned whether the cover needs to be operated manually or could be operated automatically, the latter would be a better choice to avoid the hassle.

On the front, there is also no camera seen — indicating a disappearing camera that might be using under-display technology that was previously seen on brands like OPPO and Xiaomi. The camera should be integrated under the display of the phone and only appear when the camera app is open.

Though it is very unlikely to see this camera design on the upcoming OnePlus 8 series, it could just be a few years down the road before we get a OnePlus phone as described by the patent.
