OnePlus 9 series launched with Hasselblad camera and Snapdragon 888 chip

The OnePlus 9 series has officially debuted yesterday — OnePlus collaborated with Hasselblad, meaning the flagship devices are very focused on their camera quality this time.

The 120Hz AMOLED screen remains

Both phones have an AMOLED screen supporting up to a 120Hz refresh rate, but the pro model is larger at 6.7 inches whereas the vanilla variant has a 6.55-inch screen. The punch-hole design houses a 16MP lens for both phones and although the rear camera setups are almost similar, the wide cameras slightly differ.

OnePlus 9 Pro gets an extra lens

The OnePlus 9 uses a 48MP IMX689 sensor whereas the OnePlus 9 Pro uses a 48MP IMX789 lens. These lenses are accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP monochrome lens; however, OnePlus 9 Pro also has an extra 8MP telephoto lens.

Under the hood, both devices are powered by a Snapdragon 888 chip and come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. They also have a similar 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W charging, but when it comes to wireless charging, the OnePlus 9 only supports up to 15W whereas its sibling has up 50W charging.

Pricing and availability

The OnePlus 9 is priced from EUR699 while the OnePlus 9 Pro is priced from EUR899 — their local pricing and availability have not been revealed yet.
