OnePlus recently collaborated with McLaren and revealed a special edition of the OnePlus 6T that launched on 29 October, and it’s the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.
The McLaren Edition doesn’t just include a change in design, in fact it also has an upgraded RAM and charging speed. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with 10GB RAM unlike the original version that only comes with 6/8GB RAM, and it has 256GB storage. In addition to that, the charging technology was also upgraded to something OnePlus calls “Warp Charge 30”. The charging technology is said to be able to charge the 3700mAh up to 50% faster than the Fast Charge technology on other OnePlus smartphones.
That aside, the McLaren Edition comes with an orange and black colour scheme, where the phone’s frame is wrapped around with a bright neon-like orange and the back has a glossy, semi-matte black finish with carbon fibre pattern weave. There’s also the McLaren logo located at the bottom of the back of the phone.
Aside from those upgrades, the McLaren Edition is pretty similar to the original version as it sports a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with in-display fingerprint sensor and comes with a teardrop notch. The notch houses a 16MP front camera whereas the back has a 16+20MP dual rear camera, and the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is going to be available on 13 December in North America and Western Europe, and it will arrive in China, India and the Nordics later on though the official dates are not announced yet. The phone is currently priced at $699, which is around RM2923.57.
