Having unveiled just last week, OnePlus put up its latest flagship on sale at selected regions beginning yesterday. Just like last year, the OnePlus 5T marks a half step upgrade from its predecessor the OnePlus 5 with some changes throughout the device. According to a tweet by the company’s official Twitter account, the OnePlus 5T has become OnePlus’ fastest selling device.
The tweet states that the new record was achieved within just 6 hours, though OnePlus did not reveal any figures regarding the record in the announcement. The OnePlus 5 too was the company’s fastest selling smartphone when it went on sale approximately 6 months ago. But a “T” device breaking that record would mean that some OnePlus 5 users have also turned to the 5T for an upgrade.
Among the key highlights of upgrades from the OnePlus 5 to the OnePlus 5T include the taller bezel-less display on the front, measuring at 6-inches. The set of capacitive buttons have replaced with on screen buttons, and the fingerprint sensor is now seated below the dual camera setup. The telephoto sensor from the dual cam configuration has been switched to a regular sensor with a wider aperture. Features such as Face Unlock has also been introduced, though it is only for convenience’s sake than security.
It was also confirmed that OnePlus will be phasing out the OnePlus 5 once the said phone sells out in its stores, making the OnePlus 5T the only device by the company till its successor.onepl
