OnePlus 5 spotted on Geekbench running Android Oreo

It often takes at least a couple of months for a new Android software version to run on OEM devices after Google releases it. Chinese manufacturer OnePlus intends to not let history repeat itself again by overseeing the welfare of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users. OnePlus 2 users will not be able to enjoy Android Nougat, but users of the OP3 and OP3T will have the privilege of getting Oreo on their devices. Speaking of which, the latest OnePlus 5 has been spotted on Geekbench running Android 8.0.

We’ve came across a couple of benchmark results of various devices operating Android Oreo 8.0, and the OnePlus 5 is the latest addition to that list. The OnePlus 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor and up to 8GB of RAM, but the variant tested on Geekbench is of 6GB RAM, making the scores slightly lower than the higher end variant.

OnePlus has Oxygen OS running on its handsets, a close to stock Android experience, not too many bells and whistles along with some moderate customization abilities to the software. It looks like we might see an Android Oreo beta software for the OnePlus 5 by the end of 2017.
