OnePlus 5 pre-orders commence in China

We’re a little short of a week till the launch of OnePlus’ 2017 flagship smartphone – the OnePlus 5. The highly anticipated phone has been rumored countless times and have been teased numerously as we approach the 20th June launch date. The phone is slated to go on sale on the 22nd of June at select regions. Chinese online retailer Jing Dong has now put the OnePlus 5 up for pre-orders.

For the first time in OnePlus’ smartphone history, the OnePlus 5 will sport a dual camera setup which seems to be a growing trend among current flagships. The dual camera configuration is rumored to consist of a monochrome sensor and an RGB sensor, both of 16 megapixels. Pre-orders have surpassed the 100,000 mark since it kicked off just hours ago, according to the counter on the OnePlus 5 page on Jing Dong.

Another confirmed spec of the OnePlus 5 is that it features a Snapdragon 835 processor, which puts it on par with Galaxy S8, Xperia XZ Premium and the Xiaomi Mi 6. It will reportedly pack up to 8GB of onboard RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

It is still highly encouraged to keep waiting till the launch date of the OnePlus 5 no matter how much has been revealed over the last couple of months. Regardless, most of us do know what to expect on June 20. What do you think?
