OnePlus 5 coming soon to Malaysia

Malaysia isn’t always on the forefront when it comes to receiving new smartphones. Take the iPhone by Apple for example, and LG’s flagships – the LG G6 only went on sale officially in Malaysia late last month. That happens to be the case for OnePlus handsets as well. Last year saw the release of the OnePlus 3 and 3T way after those were introduced in major markets, but things have changed since.

Brightstar Malaysia, the official distributor for OnePlus smartphones has announced that the OnePlus 5 will be available for pre-orders really soon. This means that instead of waiting for months or seeking grey imports of the phone, OnePlus fans will be able to get the official Malaysian OnePlus 5 not too long after it was unveiled.

Just to recap, the OnePlus 5 sports an iPhone 7 Plus-esque dual camera and metal unibody design. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 64GB or 128GB of storage respectively. The camera setup consists of 20MP + 16MP sensors with EIS, and the front camera is of 16MP with OIS. The phone comes packing a 3,300mAh battery.

Brightstar Malaysia has also announced the official pricing for the OnePlus 5. The 6GB RAM/64GB model will cost RM2,388 while the higher end 8GB RAM/128GB model goes for RM2,688. Pre-orders will commence soon.
