OnePlus 11 goes official in Malaysia with an attractive RM3,299 starting price

The flagship smartphone war continues to rage on with the OnePlus 11, which has been officially introduced to the Malaysian market today not too long after its global debut.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the OnePlus 11 features a 6.7-inch LTPO3 AMOLED display that refreshes adaptively at 120Hz, two storage configurations are being offered in the Malaysian market which includes the 8GB RAM+128GB storage and 16GB RAM+256GB storage model, a 5000mAh battery powers the phone and it supports 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Camera wise, OnePlus has employed Hasselblad as its partner for the phone’s camera color reproduction, while the triple camera array comprises of a 50MP Sony IMX890 main, 32MP 2x telephoto and a 48MP ultra-wide lens, only the main camera is optically stabilized and it supports 8K video recording at 24 fps. On the front, selfies are serviced by a regular 16MP camera.

Despite being an all-great powerful smartphone for 2023, the OnePlus 11 does have several corners cut from its predecessor, which includes its IP64 water resistance rating, the lack of wireless charging and USB-C 2.0 connectivity, though not entirely deal breakers, it is surprising to see OnePlus has somehow taken a very ‘OPPO’ approach that’s seen lately on many of its sister brand’s smartphones.

OnePlus has promised up to 4 years of Android OS upgrades and 5 years of Android security patches for the OnePlus 11, which makes this a very compelling device if you are someone that doesn’t upgrade your phone often.

In conjunction with the launch, OnePlus has also introduced the Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds, co-engineered and tuned by DYNAUDIO, this is the first wireless earbuds to bring native Spatial Audio support on Android 13, it also offers 54ms low latency for gaming audio, up to 39 hours of listening time with the case, and a dual 11mm + 6mm driver design that’s hardly found on earbuds of the same price range.

OnePlus 11 can be preordered on OnePlus’ Shopee, Lazada and official retail partners on 16-24 February, the 8GB+128GB model retails at RM3,299 and is offered in Titan Black color, the 16GB+256GB model retails at RM3,599 and is offered in Eternal Green color.

Preorder customers will receive a free OnePlus Buds Pro 2 worth RM869, a free OnePlus 11 Bumper Case Sandstone, 1-year extended warranty and 1-year screen protection, a chance to participate in lucky draw and a Jackson Wang postcard.

First sale of the OnePlus 11 will commence on 25 February onwards, with the offered freebies remaining very much the same except for the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, which can be purchased together with the phone for RM200 less.
