Nvidia's 3GB GTX 1060 is now available

Back in July, we’ve reported about how Nvidia was rumoured to be repackaging the 3GB version of the GTX 1060 as the GTX 1050 instead. It turns out those rumours are false, as Nvidia has announced that the 3GB GTX 1060 is now available for purchase.

In terms of specifications, the difference between the 3GB card and the 6GB card is rather minimal. Apart from the obvious VRAM difference, the 3GB card will carry only 1152 CUDA Cores, as opposed to the 6GB card’s 1280 CUDA Cores. Besides that, everything else is largely the same, from the card’s core and boost clock, to the memory clock speed, and even the card’s TDP.

Needless to say, the 3GB GTX 1060 will also have a different price tag. The 3GB card will have a suggested retail price of USD 199 (RM 798), which is USD 50 cheaper than the 6GB GTX 1060’s USD 249 (RM 999) price tag.
