Nubia Red Magic Watch launched: Priced from RM376

The Nubia Red Magic Watch is something that has come out of left field, mainly because it’s probably the first time we’ve seen a gaming smartphone brand introduce a smartwatch of all things.

Design

The design of the device doesn’t boast a lot of gamer-centric aesthetics, but rather just a simple circular watch face and a few strap options to choose from. The case is available in silver and gunmetal black.

The display uses a 1.39-inch AMOLED display that pushes a 454×454 resolution so you can expect pretty good colour and sharpness from the Red Magic Watch.

Features

When it comes to features, the watch comes with 5 ATM water-resistance rating, 16 sports modes, including football – it’s worth mentioning that for this mode, you get a heat map that details your most active positions after a match; useful if you’re looking to improve your positional play.

Under the hood is a Sony CSD5606 GNSS receiver which equips the watch with GPS, QZSS, and Beidou satellite support. On top of that, there’s a GH3011 health sensor that uses AI to track heart rate, and SpO2 levels.

The Red Magic Watch can stay online for 15 days on a single charge, and even up to 23 days in the watch’s extended mode. With that being said, we struggle to find any real gaming-centric features; but we’re reserving judgement until we get a chance to use it.

Price and availability

The watch will be available this March 11 in its native China, and will be priced from 599 Yuan (about RM376.45). There’s no word on when it’ll arrive in Malaysia yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated when we get more information.
