Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro launched with 165Hz display and Snapdragon 888+ chip

The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro has been launched in China with several upgrades, including a Snapdragon 888+ chipset and a 165Hz display.

This gaming device has a large 6.8-inch OLED screen that pushes FHD+ resolution and supports up to 720Hz touch sampling rate. It comes with a glass front and back paired with an aluminium frame and is quite similar to the Red Magic 6’s design.

Bad news: It’ll still overheat quickly

The Red Magic 6S Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ chipset, but according to GSMArena, the heating issue still persists. Apart from that, the phone comes with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It houses a 4,500mah battery that supports 120W fast charging, so a full charge will only require 17 minutes.

Better and quieter cooling system

Nubia also enhanced the cooling system by introducing a built-in fan that spins at 20,000 rpm, plus it’s quieter than the fan in the previous model. The company even added RGB lighting to the cooler to give users the gamer feel.

Red Magic 6S Pro: Price and availability

The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro is available in China from today onwards, but its local availability has yet to be confirmed. However, the price has been revealed — the lowest variant (8GB + 128GB) is priced at $620 (RM2,572.07) while the highest variant (18GB + 512GB) is priced at $991 (RM4,111.16). However, it’s not the first phone to sport 18GB of RAM – the ROG Phone 5 has long taken that title.
