Nothing Phone (2a) to launch on 5th March 2024

Nothing is set to launch its first smartphone of the year in the following month, as the UK-based technology company has released a video on YouTube confirming the arrival of the Phone (2a).

The Phone (2a) is expected to be a more affordable phone from the company, as CEO Carl Pei believes that there’s still no competition in the mid-range segment as such phones usually come with subpar features or have been outsourced to third parties for the purpose of maximizing profits and sales volumes.

In the video, Nothing has shown competing devices such as the Honor 50 and realme 11 Pro, which we can expect the Phone (2a) to come with a sub RM1500 price tag if they were to make it affordable and functional.

One thing for sure is that the Phone (2a) will still feature the company’s signature Glyph interface, though with fewer LED strips to save costs, it is expected to come with a decent specs sheet and a usable camera system, while according to rumors, the Phone (2a) will feature a 120Hz OLED display, Mediatek Dimensity 7200 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and dual 50MP cameras on the back.

Nothing will be unveiling the Phone (2a) on 5th March 2024 at 7.30PM Malaysian Time, the launch will be live streamed as usual on its YouTube channel, and we can expect sales to commence very soon locally as Malaysia is one of the company’s key markets.
