Non-Pro ZTE Blade V8 announced with a different dual rear cam setup

ZTE flaunted the Blade V8 Pro at CES 2017 Las Vegas, which was among one of the many dual camera smartphones unveiled at the tech convention a little over a week ago. The Chinese manufacturer has since announced a non-Pro variant of the mid range handset. The ZTE Blade V8 sports a different dual rear camera setup, but is nevertheless still a fairly impressive phone.

First off, the front panel of the ZTE Blade V8 is pretty typical of any mid range smartphone out in the market today, featuring a 5.2-inch display at 1080p Full HD resolution, alongside a home button below the display which doubles at fingerprint sensor. Moving underneath the hood, the handset carries a mid range labeled Snapdragon 435 processor, with two configurations – 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage.

The Blade V8 got a tune down from its Pro variant, though it still packs two cameras on the rear side. Instead of a 13MP + 13MP setup, the phone sports a 13MP + 2MP configuration instead. They say two is better than one, hence the 2MP secondary shooter still plays a part when it comes to depth of field and creating bokeh effects when capturing images. With the dual camera setup, the Blade V8 is also capable of taking 3D images, but only visible via 3D glasses. On the front is a 13MP selfie shooter with a front facing flash. Powering the Blade V8 is a 2,730mAh battery, a little short of the standard 3,000mAh seen in majority of the smartphones nowadays.

The Blade V8 is set for a release in Russia and Japan by February 2017 and Germany, Spain and Russia by March 2017. ZTE has yet to announce the pricing of this handset, but it will most likely be around the mid range $300 bracket. What do you think?
