Nokia may be building its own A.I. assistant called Viki

Yet another company is getting into the A.I. assistant market as Nokia has reportedly applied for a trademark on “Viki”.

According to the description found on the European Union Intellectual Property Office website, Viki is described as a “software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and web digital assistants working with knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice based interface.” In short, Viki is very much a digital assistant in the veins of Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri.

Nokia, of course, has decided to not comment on this particular trademark as a spokesman for the company says that the company does not “comment on how, whether or when they may be used for Nokia products or services.” That being said, if Nokia has every intention to create an A.I. assistant of its own, perhaps we would see such a feature present on future Nokia smartphones.
