Nokia unveiled 5 phones at their event at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, and it seems like things will take an interesting turn for them this year. The introduction made to all the smartphones were equally interesting and there are certainly many new features we can expect, since Nokia 3 and above will now join the Android One family.
Three of the smartphones are Android One devices; the Nokia 6, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The Nokia 6 was named the most durable smartphone of 2017, and it comes with the much-awaited face unlock feature and supports Bothie mode as seen on Nokia 8.
Nokia 7 Plus has an immersive 2-day battery life span and is the first HMD Global phone with FullView display announced. It has dual rear cameras (12MP 13MP), where one is a telephoto lens. While the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the highlight of them all, where it sports Gorilla Glass 5 coating and gets a dual curved edge FullView display too.
The Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go edition) will be one of the more affordable phones Nokia has to offer, and it comes with relatively fun and colourful Xpress-On covers to suit the user’s preference. While the Nokia 8110 4G comes with Android Go apps such as Assistant Go, Gmail Go, Maps Go and the iconic Snake game, the Nokia 3310 4G also gets announced as well.
Google’s Jamie had also talked about their partnership with HMD Global in powering the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 6 with Android One security and improvements. It is going to be a memorable joint venture between the both companies as they collaborate in future endeavours.
The smartphones are expected to be available from April this year.
