Nokia introduces the Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 Plus to the Malaysian market

Nokia is back this year again to introduce new devices to close up the price gap between their current phones. The Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 1 are the phones that are going to fill up these gaps, effectively offering a phone for everyone at every price point.

Nokia 1

The Nokia 1 is an essential phone that comes with only 1GB of RAM but is able to run Android Oreo thanks to the Android GO program, which allows devices to run the latest version of Android even if the phone comes with low specs. Being an essential phone, the Nokia 1 comes with everything you expect like a quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor, 2MP front camera 5MP rear camera, 8GB of expandable storage, 4.5-inch IPS display, and a removable 2150mAh battery. With Android GO, it comes with all the familiar apps that we have seen in the normal version of Android, the only difference is that it is optimized for devices with entry-level specs, and users will be able to get the latest update from Google as well as security patches as soon as it becomes available.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a beautiful ceramic-feel coating achieved through a 6-layer paint system. Thanks to that, it offers a nice and comfortable feel when it is in your hand. Similar to the other premium Nokia phones, the Nokia 7 Plus is also built using a block of 6000 series aluminium. Specs wise, it comes with a 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ display, 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 660 processor and powering the device is a 3800mAh battery which Nokia has claimed can offer a two-day battery life. It also comes with Android 8.1 out-of-the-box and Nokia has promised that they will be pushing monthly updates as well as security patches as soon as it releases.

Nokia has again teamed up with Carl Zeiss to bring a dual-rear camera with a 12MP wide-angle that performs well in both low light and bright areas and the 13MP sensor that supports 2x optical zoom. Nokia is also bringing back the Nokia Pro Camera mode which gives you quick access to manual controls like white balance, ISO, focus, shutter and exposure.
