Nokia Brings Back Classic Banana Phone

The sea of smartphones may just be too overwhelming that sometimes, all you need is a classic non-touchscreen phone. And Nokia has definitely paid attention to this well by bringing back the triumphant 8110 4G that appeared in Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix. This is going to definitely do him proud.

The Nokia 8110 4G made its appearance at the MWC in Barcelona, Spain, and it’s clearly a crowd favourite. It’s the second revival of classic Nokia phones, followed by the 3310 that was released last year, and it definitely looks like a good comeback. Just like the original 8110, you can answer calls by just sliding open the case, and hanging it up by snapping it shut.

It features a 2.4-inch colour screen with a 320×240-pixel display that runs on the same interface as the new Nokia 3310. Apart from running on a dual-core 1.1GHz Qualcomm 205 processor, it has a 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage; fulfilling just the simplest of needs. And there’s clearly emphasis drawn to the battery life, where it can go for more than 20 days between charges or 8 hours of making calls.

Talk about nostalgia, but this phone is definitely a crowd pleaser already. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy using a phone that brings back so much memories? And even if you don’t prefer the bright yellow option, the Nokia 8110 4G comes with a black option as well. We seriously can’t wait to get our hands on this phone.
