The Nokia 8 is confirmed to retail at RM2,299

While we are still two days away from the local launch of the Nokia 8, a local Nokia retailer has apparently leaked the pricing of the flagship that we have been anticipating from HMD Global. According to retailer NOKIA Malaysia Store located at Bangsar Shopping Centre, the Nokia 8 will be available in colours of Steel and Blue, it will retail for RM2,299 and we assume there will also be free Nokia accessories given during the preorder period. Despite of the poor value of the Malaysian Ringgit, HMD Global has managed to price the phone pretty decently, considering it is a Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone.

The Nokia 8 may not look too different from its other brothers, but it sports a very interesting camera setup as opposed to other flagships we have seen, for instance the 13-megapixel dual camera system by ZEISS, 4K Video recording with Nokia OZO audio, and the ability to take a ‘Bothie’ which captures images and videos with both front and rear cameras at the same time. Other than that, this is a perfectly powerful smartphone that shouldn’t fail you with Qualcomm’s fastest processor and 4GB of RAM, the Nokia 8 however lacks water resistance and wireless charging, and it has a fairly small display at 5.3-inches, which explains the affordable price point, still commendable nonetheless.

We will be present at the local Nokia 8 launch this Friday, and we hope to see more surprises from HMD Global.
