No Quick Charge 4.0 for the Nubia Z17 just yet

It was only last week when ZTE’s subsidiary Nubia unveiled what might be the most powerful smartphone to date – the Nubia Z17. The phone turned out to be one of the first ever smartphones to pack 8GB of RAM, and is claimed to support Qualcomm’s new Quick Charge 4.0 technology. But that won’t happen just yet, limiting the support to only Quick Charge 3.0 for now.

Nubia got most of the features right when it came to future proofing the Z17, but it seems that the company went ahead of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge tech, hence the reason why it will only support Quick Charge 3.0 for the time being. Despite the support for Quick Charge 4.0, there happens to be no supported charging adapter just yet, leaving the Nubia Z17 hanging by a moment for the latest charging tech by chip maker Qualcomm.

Regardless, the Nubia Z17 is also the first ever Snapdragon 835 powered device to feature QC 4.0, giving it another edge over the competition apart from its extra RAM. But it won’t be very much of a significant edge till we see a Quick Charge 4.0 charging adapter in the market. What do you think?
