Niantic begins perma-banning Pokémon Go cheaters

GPS spoofers, botters and cheaters beware as Niantic has begun cracking down on those who have been manipulating their phones to get ahead in Pokémon Go.

A post posted up on the Pokémon Go website shows that Niantic will be banning those who have been cheating in Pokémon Go. The offences that will result in a perma-ban includes, but are not limited to, ‘falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon Go clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third party software.’

Up until now, Niantic has been issuing bans of various severity. However, with this newly issued statement, it seems that Niantic will be increasing its efforts to crack down on cheaters. That said, Niantic hasn’t really provided much details as to how exactly they will identify cheaters, so it remains to be seen how Niantic would proceed with their crackdown.
