The Nexus 6 was Google’s first premiumly priced smartphone. As pricy as it can get, the Nexus 6 turned out to be probably the first handset by Google without any compromises. While Google’s devices were always meant to receive timely updates, Nexus 6 users have been crying foul over the lack of support and attention for the 2014 Google flagship. Only a couple of weeks back Google finally announced that Android Nougat 7.0 will be rolling out to Nexus 6 devices “in the coming weeks”, and the latest version of Android is finally making its way to the Nexus 6.
The update arrives after many Nexus 6 users speculating a reality whereby there will be no official Android Nougat for their devices, despite the device being included in the Android Beta Program. Google didn’t break its promise to consumers, finally allowing Nexus 6 users an official bite of Android Nougat. The OTA update is currently rolling out to Nexus 6 devices, sizing up to over 850MB, so it is definitely recommended to download the software update over WiFi.
Now that the Nexus 6 has gotten its share of Android Nougat, it won’t be long before we see the software update heading over to the Nexus 9 LTE, another two year old device by Google. Have you received your Nougat update for your Nexus 6?
