You can now sign up for Netflix for as low as RM17 per month! The catch is this package is only available for smartphone and tablet users only.

We saw a similar mobile-only plan launched in India recently, and it was introduced as a test in Malaysia earlier last year. This time it’s officially available to choose when you sign up.

For the price, you get to watch content capped at standard definition, 5 profiles with one device streaming at a time, as well as Smart Downloads.

Plus, a new simpler UI has been introduced for lower end or older Android devices that may not be able to load up the app as fast. Plus, Netflix on mobile utilizes mobile-optimized encoding that allows you to stream at a decent quality even with a low 250kbps connection. The best part: you get to watch up to 6.5 hours of content while consuming only 1GB of mobile data.
