Netflix wants more interactive content after the success of Bandersnatch

Netflix’s title Black Mirror: Bandersnatch was a hit when it came out because it was an interactive film with multiple endings. This is rather unique as the story changes depending on the decisions you make, which is why Netflix is planning on producing more interactive films.

Netflix’s VP of content Todd Yellin said, “We’re doubling down on that. So expect over the next year or two to see more interactive storytelling. That aside, Yellin also said that future interactive films doesn’t have to be sci-fi or dark.

“It could be a wacky comedy. It could be a romance, where the audience gets to choose – should she go out with him or him.” This means that the upcoming interactive films might just be rom-coms where audience can possibly choose whether two characters end up together or go their separate ways.

Aside from interactive films, Yellin revealed that the company will produce more Indian content, pointing out that the Indian original series titled Sacred Games was a global hit because two out three viewers of Sacred Games are from outside of India. Viewers are expected to see twice the amount of Indian content in the following year, and even more after that.
