MWC 2022: Huawei made a RM2300 e-ink tablet that runs on HarmonyOS 2

Huawei has launched an odd yet interesting product at MWC 2022, it is a 10.3-inch tablet that comes with a E-Ink FullView Display that’s called the MatePad Paper, which the company says its designed for immersive reading and light office experiences, and it runs on HarmonyOS 2.

The MatePad Paper is one of the largest e-ink tablets that you can find in the market today, and Huawei aims to offer a natural paper-link experience and it supports its proprietary M-Pencil stylus for handwriting. With HarmonyOS 2 and the newly launched Super Device collaboration feature, the MatePad Paper will allow users to seamlessly connect with their Huawei smartphones and laptops, have content synced over to be enjoyed on the display with less eye strain.

Calling the MatePad Paper a mere Amazon Kindle competitor is an understatement, because it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, WiFi 6, dual speakers, 22.5W fast charging and a 3625mAh battery that will last up to 28 days, Huawei hasn’t mentioned which e-book store that it has worked with but as for now we can safely assume that the MatePad Paper will source content from the Huawei AppGallery.

Price wise, the tablet will cost 499 Euros (RM2,340) and will come with the M-Pencil and Folio cover in the box, but no availability has been mentioned just yet and we doubt it will make its way to Malaysian shores.
