MSI PS42 arrives in Malaysia for RM3,949

Unveiled in COMPUTEX 2018, the lightweight and premium looking MSI PS42 laptop is finally available in Malaysia, it packs a 14-inch display with an impressive 81% screen-to-body ratio, an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 discrete graphics, and offers up to 10 hours of battery in a 1.19kg body.

MSI aims to appeal business executives and content creators who wants a portable yet powerful machine, the variant sold in Malaysia will come installed with a 256GB NVMe SSD and 8GB DDR4-2400 RAM, which the latter can be upgraded to 16GB with a single slot.

Apart from having a stunning display, the PS42 also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the trackpad with Windows Hello support, which isn’t widely available on laptops below RM4000.

When it comes to thermals, MSI has also fitted the PS42 with its Cooler Boost 3 cooling system, which comprises of two heat fans and three heat pipes to ventilate heat out of the system to ensure great performance when the system is under heavy load. In terms of ports selection, the PS42 doesn’t compromise that either with two USB-A and two USB-C ports, an full sized SD card reader and an audio combo jack, making this one of the most comprehensive lightweight laptop.
