Back in September, Samsung launched its two new smartphone camera sensors 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor and 50MP ISOCELL GN5.

The ISOCELL HP1 is said to be the world’s first 200MP resolution sensor and it makes use of new pixel-binning technology that improves both bright-light and low-light shooting. On the other hand, the 50MP ISOCELL GN5 is aimed to improve autofocusing performance with Samsung claiming the autofocus speed to be “instantaneous”.

As reported previously, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be one of the world’s first smartphone to adopt a 200MP and leakster Ice Universe has confirmed this.

It seems like Motorola will be the first to adopt the 200MP camera, followed by Xiaomi in the second half of 2022, and finally Samsung in 2023. Leakster Digital Chat Station also added by mentioning the specific Motorola model Motorola Edge X.

This certainly comes as a surprise as we don’t usually see Motorola releasing flagship-level phones but it is exciting to see a new competitor in the market. We probably won’t have to wait too long to find out so stay tuned as we bring you more updates.
