Moto smartphones are not the most sought after ones in Malaysia, but Motorola usually strikes gold with its devices, as unpopular as they can be. We reviewed the Moto Z Play a little over two months ago and it was a great device. Now Lenovo plans to bring in another Moto handset to our shores, and this time it’s the Moto G5 Plus.
The Moto G5 Plus is set to be unveiled locally next Monday after the phone was released just last month. Its design is largely inspired by the high end Moto devices, from the metal build to the signature larger than usual camera module bump. The Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Underneath the hood is a mid range Snapdragon 625 processor with either 3 or 4GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage respectively. It is likely that only one variant will see the light in Malaysia.
The phone features a 12MP rear camera with dual autofocus pixels, claimed to provide faster focus times. The front facing shooter is of a wide lens 5MP sensor. The G5 Plus packs a 3,000mAh battery which supports 15W TurboPower charging through a rather dated micro USB port instead of a USB Type-C port. An added bonus is that the phone has a water repellent nano coating which protects it from minor spills and splashes.
The Malaysian pricing of the Moto G5 Plus has yet to be revealed, but we predict its price tag to sit just above the RM 1,000 mark. Are you looking forward to the Moto G5 Plus?
