It might be too late when ZTE Axon 7 gets Oreo update

Just a while ago we received news that the ZTE Axon 7 will be getting Android Oreo software as announced by the company itself. However ZTE has unveiled that the Axon 7 will be entering the Oreo world late in the game, probably too late with Android P set to be announced in mid 2018.

The Axon 7 was launched in May 2016 as ZTE’s flagship device back then. It came with top notch specs like the Snapdragon 820 processor, a fairly impressive camera, a QHD display, dual front facing speakers and so on. All of these for a really affordable price tag which trumps the rest of the competition. There hasn’t been a successor for the Axon 7 since its launch.

Users of the Axon 7 have been hoping for an Android Oreo software update and have finally gotten their wishes when ZTE announced that they will be developing the software for the Axon 7. But ZTE Germany has revealed in the ZTE forums that Android Oreo for the Axon 7 will only be released in April 2018. This makes it really late compared to other smartphone brands which are currently pushing out Oreo updates for the respective devices.

By then there will be a lot of talk about the arrival of Android P, which will soon make Android Oreo a story of yesterday. What do you think?
