Microsoft will end support for Windows 7 after 14 January 2020

Microsoft has announced that the support for Windows 7 is ending in about a years’ time. After 14 January 2020, there will no longer be any security updates or support for PCs with Windows 7.

Of course, users can update to Windows 10 but they can also still continue using Windows 7. The downside is that once the support ends, Windows 7 users will no longer get security and feature updates which will put their PCs at security risks. Windows 7 can also be installed and activated even after the mentioned date though it will not be getting updates, but the company strongly recommends its users to upgrade to Windows 10.

Users can opt to continue getting security updates, but only if they’re business customers and they’re paying for the support. That being said, it’s definitely not worth it because the security updates will only last for three more years and the rates will be higher each year.

Though previously Windows 10 faced several major bugs with its latest version update, most of it has been resolved. In addition, Windows 10 is still a remarkable upgrade from the Windows 7 that was first launched in 2009.
