Microsoft had their launch event for new Surface products particularly the Surface Laptop 2 and the Surface Studio 2, keeping the elegance and power that the previous generations product offers with new hardware.
Surface Laptop 2
Most of the changes done to the laptop are in its internals. The base model now comes with 8GB of RAM, and 8th Generation Intel Core processors. It still retains its 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 screen and starts at 128GB of SSD storage all the way to 1TB of storage. Sadly, as the rumours and leaks are true, there is still no USB Type-C ports, all you get will be a single USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort. Microsoft has claimed that the Surface Laptop 2 will offer you up to 14.5 hours of video playback and it now comes in a sleek black colour, other than its regular platinum colour.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 will come in four colours of Black, Platinum, Burgundy and Cobalt Blue. It will start shipping on 16 October 2018 with a starting price of $999.
Surface Studio 2
For the creative mind that needs a big working device, Microsoft has also introduced the Surface Studio 2 which has received an upgrade from its predecessor. It comes with the same 28-inch screen but the company has claimed that the screen is 38 percent brighter and has 22 percent more contrast than the previous Surface Studio. The display supports touch and 4096 levels of pressure via the Surface Pen.
Other than that, the graphics power has been improved by 50 percent thanks to a Nvidia chip which is based on the Pascal architecture. It can also pair up with an Xbox On control for gaming and the Surface dial. Sadly, they are still using the 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor but there is a 2TB SSD inside and 16GB of RAM. They did not mention the launch date but the base model will cost $3499
